Prompt: Perception
Perception is defined as the act or faculty of apprehending by means of the senses or of the mind; cognition; understanding. Perception may have one definition but every one has thier own understanding of perception on diffrent subjects or ideas. My percepon on a certain subject might be totally diffrent of your perception of the same subject. For example, I might think that New York is the most exciting city in the United States. Contradictively, you may think New York is routine and fast paced.
Ones perception can derive from his life experiences such as his culture, race or gender. No matter what the factor is, the diffrence in perspective is in ones personal opinion. What you may see to be true may be a completely diffrent for the person sitting next to you everyday. So even though you might share some experieces, other experiences may have a key impact on the thoughts or ideas of the other person.
Some perceptions are taken to be commonly accepted by society. Some examples would be, that it takes money to live and become able to survive on your own. A personal perception would be that it takes money to be happy. The diffrence between the two is that it can most likely argued that it doesn't take money to be happy. On the other hand, not many people can argue that you can live on your own with out money.
Although some perceptions can be defined as truth, perception is never permanent. Any string of events can change perception; whether it is a commonly accepted or just ones opinoin. In many cases we find this to be difficult to achieve but perception can be altered when a tramatic event or life catalyst is involved.

A Chapter in My Life
I believe life is a long novel just waiting for some one to write it. Every step in your life becomes a chapter and each person that influences you are the characters. You are the author and have the power to navigate the story. You have the power of your own fairy tale ending, its what you do with your life that makes your story.
My name is Misty Scott. I am 19 years old and this is the most recent chapter of my story. I have an identical twin whom I've never spent more than two days away from until recently. I also have three more sisters whom are younger than me, and three brothers whom are older than me. However, it doesn't end there; my mother, ironically, is due to have my new twin brother and sister on my birthday. My siblings and I were born and raised in Conyers, Georgia. A small suburban town on the outskirts of Atlanta. I went to a public school most of my life with most of the same friends since elementary school. Until tenth grade, my parents saw it in my best interests to transfer my twin sister and I into a private christian school in Stockbridge, Georgia. It was a major change but I soon met the best friends of my life.
I am a very independent person as a child I would wonder off into my own adventures, while my twin sister followed close behind copying my every step. Once and awhile she would remind me of the consequences which I did not acknowledge. This behavior followed me into my teenage years. Of course careless behavior is not an uncommon trait of that age group. Consequently, I decided that I had what it took to move out into the"real world". My adolescent ways soon began to diminish and I took on a new chapter of my life and became a new character in it as well.
Bills and work consumed my days and soon a year crept by. That year opened my eyes to the "real world". And I soon realized that I was not ready, nor equipped with the knowledge or tools to be prepared to take on this "real world".
College is the title of the next chapter I am beginning to write now. I anticipate it to be the best one yet.
